One of Bug's teachers brought her 3rd grader to work with her a few days ago. At one point, the 3rd grader was doing his math homework. Bug sat down next to him and watched him for a while, then was prompted to do some "math" of his own. Bug is very close to fluent reading. Tonight in the bath, he read the words "Push Up Open" that were on the tap... and I had never told him what they said. So, tonight for bedtime books, I let him pick one out and I picked one out. We read mine first - Put Me in the Zoo by Robert Lopshire. It's a classic early reader.
